Rhinestahl CTS and Baker Hughes’ Waygate Technologies Partner to Provide Better Borescope Inspection Experience
MASON, OHIO / HUERTH, Germany, April 9th – Rhinestahl Customer Tooling Solutions (Rhinestahl CTS), the global leader in aircraft engine tooling and support services and equipment, and Waygate Technologies, a Baker Hughes business and market leader in nondestructive testing (NDT) solutions for industrial inspection, joined forces to take borescope inspections to the next level with two-way communication.
As a result of a recently signed Joint Technology Development Agreement (JTDA), Rhinestahl’s FutureDriveNG+ turning tool is now capable of two-way communication with Waygate Technologies’ Mentor Visual iQ+ (MViQ+) video borescope. FutureDrive rotates the engine based on MVIQ+ borescope commands. This new technology automates image and measurement capture during rotation saving key information, such as blade number as part of meta data, thereby improving Turn Around Time (TAT), and accuracy, enabling MRO shops to reassign technician hours to other important tasks.
“Setting the industry standard for customer experience is at the forefront of Rhinestahl’s mission,” stated Alan Oak, Chief Operating Officer at Rhinestahl. “We are passionate about understanding the needs of our customers worldwide and innovating to meet their needs. We have a passionate team of industry experts who thrive on challenging the norm every day.”
“We continue to lead innovation with industry partners to assist and automate video borescope inspections,” said Mike Domke, General Manager Visual at Waygate Technologies, “Together, we are delivering more efficient and accurate solutions for engine inspections.”
The collaboration between Rhinestahl and Waygate Technologies will further benefit customers as both teams continue to innovate and develop groundbreaking borescope inspection technologies.
Visitors and attendees at the MRO Americas show in Chicago (April 9-11) will be able to meet teams of both parties to find out more about this latest technical development. The booth numbers for on-site orientation are #2805 (Rhinestahl) and #4626 (Waygate Technologies).
